Latest company case about HUAO Demonstrates Refractory Innovations at ICR 2026

The 69th International Colloquium on Refractories (ICR 2026) kicked off at September 16, 2026, running through September 17 in Aachen, Germany. As a landmark global conference for high-temperature engineering, industrial ceramics, and furnace technology, ICR 2026 gathers research scholars, refractory manufacturers, and industry leaders from around the globe. HUAO is actively participating in this prestigious international event, featuring its complete high-performance raw material ecosystem—including alumina micro-powder, tabular alumina, white fused alumina, mullite, and specialized magnesia products.

Facing heightened global demands for energy efficiency, reduced CO₂ emissions, and longer lining service life in high-temperature kilns, plant operators are increasingly relying on high-purity synthetic aggregates. Our presentation at ICR 2026 focuses on how integrated raw material selection directly improves the thermal stability, mechanical load-bearing capacity, and corrosion resistance of modern refractory products.

Unifying Alumina Powders and Tabular Alumina for Matrix Stability

This exhibition we highlight the synergy between its low-sodium calcined alumina micro-powders and high-density tabular alumina aggregates. Processed through advanced micro-grinding, Our alumina powders achieve an alpha-phase crystalline conversion rate of α-Al₂O₃ ≥ 93% to ≥ 94%, with soda impurities tightly controlled (Na₂O ≤ 0.15% in high-purity series). These reactive powders optimize particle packing within low-cement and ultra-low cement castables, enabling lower mixing water requirements and accelerating liquid-phase sintering during initial heat-up.

Working in combination with the micro-powder matrix, tabular alumina serves as a ultra-pure corundum aggregate (Al₂O₃ ≥ 99.2%, Bulk Density ≥ 3.5 g/cm³, Porosity ≤ 5.0%). Produced via high-temperature sintering without external additives, its closed intra-crystalline pore structure delivers excellent resistance to severe thermal shock and slag erosion. This combination is particularly suited for high-stress steelmaking components, such as ladle purging plugs, sliding gate plates, and continuous casting nozzles.

Expanding Options with White Fused Alumina, Mullite, and Magnesia

To support diverse refractory formulations across different temperature zones and chemical environments, HUAO is showcasing several products:

White Fused Alumina (WFA): Electro-fused from high-purity alumina at extreme temperatures, providing high hardness, high density, and low iron contamination for premium shaped refractory bricks and abrasive applications.

Mullite Grains: Engineered for superior creep resistance and volume stability under continuous thermal loading, making them an optimal choice for hot-blast stove linings, glass furnace checkers, and ceramic kiln furniture.

High-Purity Magnesia Series: Formulated to withstand aggressive basic slag and alkaline environments in steelmaking ladles, non-ferrous smelting furnaces, and cement rotary kilns.

Quality Control and Technical Support Partnerships

Operating as an integrated manufacturer and exporter, we implement strict ISO-certified quality management protocols across all processing steps. Every batch of raw materials is verified for chemical composition, grain size distribution, and density to ensure stable performance in international refractory formulations. HUAO warmly welcomes engineers, procurement specialists, and industrial partners attending ICR 2026 in Aachen to meet with our technical team, explore custom grain size preparations, and discuss long-term supply solutions.
